Summary
New World Home, a rapidly growing residential ‘green’ design/build company based in midtown Manhattan is seeking a forward thinking, innovative, talented and experienced Managing Architect to assist the company and co-founder to head operations of its newly founded architectural division. New World Home (www.newworldhome.com) is an exciting company creating a transformative green housing solution converging historically-based design concepts with the latest green building practices and technologies from around the world. New World model homes are some of the first in the country to achieve USGBC LEED for Home Platinum certification without the use of any renewable energy sources.
The candidate must have great leadership skills with multiple years of management experience; history of architectural firm management a strong plus. The candidate must also display great architectural skills and be capable of overseeing the concurrent production of multiple design portfolios while thriving in a fast pace and highly creative environment. In addition, the candidate must be able to embrace new challenges, seek innovative solutions by nature and appreciate working with a talented team of professionals.
Responsibilities
• Oversee all design development on multiple platforms
• Assist with research, design and production of historically-based design concepts that fully integrate state-of-the-art green building products and manufacturing methodologies
• Oversee all design charrette activity
• Design analysis and management
• Innovate new building techniques
• Establish and manage office protocol
Skills/Attributes/Qualifications
• Fully proficient CAD skills a must
• Attention to detail a must
• Visionary leadership skills
• Attention to detail a must
• Ability to manage different personality types
• Advanced design and space planning skills
• 10+ years of experience in the field
• USGBC LEED certification preferred
• Experience with residential energy efficiency and/or building methods, building diagnostics, green building, innovative systems and technologies preferred
• Flexible, adaptable to change
• Demonstrates positive attitude in all situations
• Produces thorough and accurate work
• Team player
• Willing to travel
